Winter on the Asitz

Ski area and valley station

The Asitz is a central part of the Ski Circus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, one of Austria's largest connected ski areas with over 270 kilometers of slopes. The valley station of the Asitzbahn cable car is located in Leogang and offers direct access to a variety of slopes for all skill levels. Several huts and restaurants are available at both the valley and mountain stations, offering regional specialties and a cozy atmosphere.

Family-friendly offers and ski schools

The Asitz is particularly attractive for families and children. Directly at the valley station is Leo's Children's Land, a spacious practice area specifically tailored to the needs of the youngest skiers. With seven "magic carpets" (conveyor belts) of varying lengths, a children's carousel, snow igloos, and a knight's castle, Leo's Kinderland offers ideal conditions for first skiing experiences. The Altenberger Ski School expertly supervises the children's area and ensures that children learn to ski in a playful and safe way.

In addition, there are other ski schools at the valley station that offer special courses for children and adults to improve technique and safety on the slopes.

Toboggan run on the Asitz

A special highlight for tobogganing fans is the 4-kilometer-long toboggan run, which starts at the middle station of the Asitzbahn The run is family-friendly and offers fun both during the day and in the evening. Night tobogganing is offered every Tuesday and Friday, with the run illuminated until 10:00 p.m. After the descent, a 4-seater chairlift comfortably transports tobogganers back to the middle station, allowing for multiple consecutive descents. Asitz Games Trail

In summer, the Asitz transforms into a paradise for hikers and families. Asitz Games Trail The trail begins at the mid-station of the Asitzbahn cable car and stretches for approximately 4 kilometers. Numerous interactive stations along the trail invite you to sharpen your senses and discover nature through play. Barefoot paths, sound installations, and a walk-in waterfall are just a few of the attractions that delight young and old.

Still waters

Above the middle station is the area Still waters, an idyllic reservoir, is about a 10-minute walk away. Around the lake, loungers, a natural Kneipp facility, and the "Stille Wasser Kapelle" (Still Water Chapel) invite you to relax and linger. The impressive mountain backdrop of the Leogang Steinberge and the Steinernes Meer offer an unforgettable panorama.
