The Walchsee: An Overview

The Walchsee is an idyllic lake in Tyrol, known for its clear water and the surrounding mountains. It lies at an altitude of about 658 meters and has an area of about 95 hectares. The calm waters are ideal for swimming, fishing and boating. There are various public baths around the lake. During our visit it was 23° in July.

Traveling by electric boat

During the trip you can enjoy the beautiful landscape around the Walchsee enjoy, e.g. on the tame emperorThe calm waters and low speed of the electric boats ensure a pleasant and safe experience, which is particularly suitable for families with children. There are 2 speed levels, but they are completely sufficient. You have enough time to go around the entire lake and also go swimming.

A scenic view of a lakeside village with houses and trees under a partly cloudy sky comes into focus as you navigate the calm waters on an electric boat. The image captures the green shore of Lake Walchsee, complete with a playground and forested hills and mountains in the background.

Tip: Not all boats have a ladder! So if you are not very agile or have children with you, it could be difficult to get back into the boat from the lake if you get a boat without a ladder. The ladder costs €2 extra. The boats are spacious enough for up to 4 people. The boats all offer very good sun protection. Since the boats do not produce any engine noise, you can experience the sounds of nature to the fullest. We recommend that you plan at least an hour to travel across the lake in peace.
