Arrival and parking

You can get to Hallstatt by car or public transport. By car, take the B145 to Obertraun and then on to Hallstatt. There are three official car parks at the entrance to the town: P1, P2 and P3These parking spaces are well signposted and from there the center can be easily reached on foot. Due to the narrow streets in the center, parking directly in the village is not possible.

Alternatively, you can take the train to the station Obertraun-Dachstein Caves From there, a bus directly into the centre. A particularly picturesque option is to travel by ferry from Obertraun, which offers you a wonderful view of Hallstatt and the lake as you approach.

Tip: Since Hallstatt is often very busy, it is advisable to arrive early to secure a parking space.
