History and Architecture

The Marienwarte was built in 1907 and is a landmark of Wels. The tower has a height of 38 meters and was built as a viewing point for the public. The tower was built in the style of the time and is inspired by St. Mary's Church, which gave it its name.

The architecture of the Marienwarte is simple but elegant. The tower consists of a sturdy stone foundation and a metal structure that provides an open gallery in the upper areas of the tower. This gallery is the perfect place to enjoy the wide view of the surroundings.

The top is reached via 100 wide steps of a winding staircase, followed by another 40 narrow steps of a narrow spiral staircase.
