The Promenadenbad Pörtschach on Wörthersee is a smaller but very popular public lido in Pörtschach. It is located right at the end of the beautiful beach promenade and offers visitors a wonderful view of the turquoise-blue Wörthersee. Although it is smaller than the Klagenfurt lido, it is a very popular place for locals and tourists, especially in summer.
With a generous sunbathing area of around 10,000 m², the pool offers plenty of space, even if it is often very crowded on hot summer days. A special highlight is the access to the picturesque flower island, which can be reached via a 100-meter-long arched bridge. Here you can watch fish in the clear water and make use of the few shady spots. There are also shady spots in the main part of the pool, but you should be prepared to keep close distance from your neighbors.
The Pörtschach Promenade Pool offers numerous activities for all ages. In addition to a water climber and table tennis tables, there is also a beach volleyball court and a children's playground. For the little ones, there are also sandpits and flat pebble beaches. Those looking for action can let off steam with water skiing, wakeboarding, stand-up paddling (SUP) or tube rides. Unfortunately, the water slide had to be closed due to structural defects and it is unclear whether it will ever reopen.
The culinary offerings at the Promenadenbad are also a plus point. The attached restaurant, which is not only open to bathers, offers surprisingly good dishes for a lido. Freshly baked pizzas, burgers, spaghetti, Carinthian cheese dumplings and fresh fruit are all on offer. There are also sweets for children and the popular ice cream shop at the end of the promenade attracts many visitors.
The Promenadenbad Pörtschach is the ideal place to spend a relaxing day at Lake Wörthersee and enjoy the crystal clear water.
