The slopes in the ski area
The Rauriser Hochalmbahnen ski area stretches over 32.5 kilometers of slopes and offers something for all ability levels. There are a total of 6 blue, 8 red and 2 black slopes. The slopes are excellently groomed and offer suitable challenges for beginners and advanced skiers. Particularly noteworthy are the numerous blue and red slopes, which are ideal for beginners to intermediate skiers. The highest point in the ski area is the Schwarzwand at 2,194 meters, from here you have a wide view of the surrounding mountains of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
A small disadvantage is that you can only get back to the valley from the main gondola via a black piste. For many skiers, this means that they have to take the gondola from the middle station to get back to the valley.
The huts in the ski area
There are a total of 4 serviced huts in the ski area that invite you to stop and linger. These are ideal for regaining strength after a long descent.

Night tobogganing is particularly exciting when the toboggan run is illuminated under the starry sky, making the tobogganing experience even more unforgettable. Tobogganing is a perfect complement to skiing and offers a great way to enjoy a day in the mountains in a different way.

At the valley station of the Rauriser Hochalmbahnen there are numerous options for spending the day with the family.
Tobogganing on the local mountain
Right next to the valley station is the practice slope, which is ideal for families. Children can spend their lunchtime here on skis, sledges, slide blades or slide bobs. A small drag lift is available free of charge for children, while adults can purchase a block of 10 tickets to also go up the hill. This area is particularly popular with families and offers a safe environment for the little ones.

After playing and sledding, two huts invite you to linger:
Wischtlhittn: Here you can find a selection of inexpensive dishes such as bratwurst, grilled sausages, Bosna, meat doughnuts and cakes. Half a litre of ski water costs only €2.50. Please note that there may be longer waiting times at lunchtime, especially after the ski school lessons.
Next to the Wischtlhittn there is also a smaller hut with a direct view of the children's slope, which offers a selection of schnitzels, soups, burgers, chicken sticks and apple turnovers.
