bathing pleasure and nature experience

With a summer temperature of up to 27 degrees, the Schwarzsee the warmest moor lake in Tyrol. It is particularly popular with bathers, as it is only 7 meters deep and quickly warms up to pleasant temperatures. When we visited at the end of June, the lake was only 19 degrees, but the location, embedded in the backdrop of the Kaiser Mountains, makes this place particularly attractive.

Contrary to its name, the lake is not black, but shimmers emerald green and invites you to relax and swim. There is a public beach, and right next to it you can boats, pedal boats and SUP rent.

Lake tour: A relaxing walk

A special recommendation is the circumnavigation of the lake, which is easy to manage even with a stroller. The walk takes about half an hour and takes you through the beautiful surroundings of the Schwarzsee. We started at the cafeteria at the beach and chose the path in the clockwise. First it goes slightly uphill before the path enters the cooling forest on the lakeshore leads.

There are always beautiful views of the lake and inviting bays invite you to relax – completely free of charge. park benches along the way offer the opportunity to pause and enjoy nature. The path is mostly concrete and leads almost exclusively along the water. Apart from a construction site where a new hotel is being built, the walk was just perfect for us. We hope that the hotel will blend harmoniously into the landscape once it is completed.

The Schwarzsee is a wonderful destination for all those who seek relaxation in nature, whether swimming, walking or ice skating in winter.
