The St. Johann – Alpendorf ski area in Salzburger Land offers the perfect introduction to the Ski Amadé area. Snow Space Salzburg and is ideal for families and leisure skiers. With a location at 800 – 1,850 meters above sea level, modern lifts and direct connection to Flachau and Wagrain Winter sports enthusiasts can expect perfectly groomed slopes, a popular snow park, and rustic ski huts. The ski area has been continuously modernized in recent years and is now one of the most attractive winter sports resorts in the region.

Highlights of the ski area

St. Johann – Alpendorf is known for its family-friendly offers and varied slopes. Panorama Link cable car Since 2020, it has been directly connected to the Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl and Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl ski areas. This makes the ski area part of the 12 Peaks Tour, a unique ski tour over 12 peaks and through 5 valleys.

Special highlights include the Snowpark Alpendorf, one of the best snow parks in the region. Some hotels offer direct access to the slopes. We can the Hotel Berghof highly recommend that it is located directly opposite the valley station. 

Furthermore, there is Race track at Gernkogelwhere skiers can compete, as well as the Trio Infernale, three challenging black slopes for real experts. Families will find Devil's Route on the Ghost Mountain an entertaining children's adventure slope with numerous surprises.

The ski area has 45 state-of-the-art lifts that guarantee fast and comfortable transport:

Insider tip: Hahnbaum family ski area

For beginners and families there is the Hahnbaum Its own small ski area, right in the center of St. Johann in Salzburg. Seven kilometers of easy slopes are ideal for learning to ski—perfect for children or those returning to skiing.

Family-friendly skiing in St. Johann – Alpendorf

St. Johann – Alpendorf is particularly family-friendly and ideal for a relaxing ski holiday with children. Compared to other large ski resorts, there's less hustle and bustle here, making skiing more enjoyable. We were particularly impressed by the many wide and well-groomed slopes, perfect for families. The children's adventure slope Devil's Route on the Ghost Mountain provides fun and excitement, while the small ski area Hahnbaum near the city center offers a perfect environment for beginners.

The ski rental in St. Johann is also excellently organized: Several providers directly at the valley stations offer state-of-the-art equipment for all age groups – so you can conveniently rent everything you need on site and get started right away. By the way, we have opted for Toni Gruber who runs the ski school right at the Alpendorf mountain station. For lunch, you can enjoy a cozy meal at the Gondl Stubn.
