The Bad Schallerbach thermal baths include the Aquapulco also the area TropicanaThe two areas offer different worlds of experience for visitors.
The Aquapulco is an action-packed paradise for water lovers of all ages. With more than 200 interactive water play equipment, 9 exciting slides and a large outdoor area, thrills and fun are guaranteed. The pirate world in particular attracts little adventurers who can feel like real pirates and explore the imaginatively designed water attractions.
In contrast, the Tropicana a place of relaxation and well-being. Everything here revolves around wellness and relaxation. Thermal pools, saunas, steam baths and relaxation areas invite you to let your body and mind rest.
The whole thing isn't cheap. Two adults with a child can easily pay over €100 per day if they want to treat themselves to both areas (they are only separated by turnstiles). We particularly recommend this in winter, as there are hardly any sunbathing areas in Aquapulco apart from the outdoor area.
One of the main attractions are the impressive slides, which promise pure adrenaline. From rapid descents on the Black Mamba to exciting rides in the X-Tube, there is plenty of thrill to be had. But the little visitors are not neglected either. They can splash around in the shallow children's pools, discover water games and romp around on child-friendly slides.
In addition to the action-packed attractions, Aquapulco also offers a variety of pools and relaxation areas. The wave pool promises pure bathing fun as you let yourself drift in the artificially generated waves once an hour. And when the weather is nice, the outdoor pool tempts you with pleasant refreshment and sunbathing.
Here, children can immerse themselves in a fascinating world of pirate ships, water fountains and slides. The imaginatively designed environment invites you to explore and play. The adventure trail is a 100-meter-long circular path high above the pirate bay! The kids can let off steam here, climb and explore interactive water play equipment such as water cannons, pumps, water wheels and splash attractions.
In the pirate world there are 5 slides with different levels of difficulty: Kamikaze, Snaky, The Octopus, Black Jack and Canyon.
Unfortunately, all 5 slides start from the same platform, which is why there can be traffic jams, especially on weekends and holidays.
We liked the octopus the best, where you go through the tentacles of the octopus in double hoops. Please don't keep the hoops, but pass them on to the next person in line at the finish. But as we all know, tastes differ, so there's something for everyone.
If the 5 indoor slides are not enough for you, there are 4 more slides and 200 interactive water play equipment available in the outdoor area!
One of the highlights of the leisure pool is undoubtedly the impressive pirate head, which holds an impressive 3,000 liters of water. Every minute there is a spectacular "splash experience" in which the contents of the pirate head pour over the entire complex. This impressive spectacle never ceases to amaze visitors and creates a thrilling atmosphere full of water fun and adventure. There are plenty of loungers on a spacious lawn for relaxing.
Of course, the little ones were also thought of.
Here you enter an island surrounded by palm trees and with attractions for crawling and climbing. Babies can let off steam in small streams, have their first slide experiences and explore the water play equipment. The Aquapulco also offers separate mother-child areas equipped with nursing berths, changing tables and a baby galley.
For those looking for relaxation and rest, the Tropicana in the thermal baths is the perfect place. Various saunas and steam baths offer the opportunity to relax your body and mind and recharge your batteries. In the relaxation areas you can rest and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere.
While you relax in the relaxing atmosphere of the Tropicana thermal spa, only an airy, 14-meter-high and 1,000-square-meter winter garden separates you from the palm-lined beach with the picturesque thermal spa lagoon. When the sun is shining and the outside temperature is pleasant, the roof is even opened to give you an even more intense holiday feeling.
For an extra dose of relaxation, there are whirlpools and bubble loungers that pamper tired muscles and invite you to switch off.
Aquapulco and Tropicana also offer a variety of dining options for visitors to refuel. From snacks and light meals to refreshing drinks and ice cream, there is something to suit every taste. Considering the entrance fee, we found the food and drinks to be surprisingly inexpensive.
In summary, the Aquapulco and the Tropicana in the Bad Schallerbach thermal baths offer a varied and diverse experience for every visitor, although the facility is a bit old. While the Aquapulco promises water fun and adventure with its action-packed water attractions, exciting slides and the enthusiastic pirate world, the Tropicana invites you to relax and feel good with its relaxed atmosphere, saunas and palm beach.
The only downside is that you have to dig deep into your pockets for this. As a family, you should definitely expect to spend between €100 and €200 for a day. It's a pretty expensive activity that you can't afford too often.
