Tobogganing at the Kreuzbodenbahn: Fun for the whole family

Tobogganing during the day
The toboggan run at the Kreuzbodenbahn is open daily during the operating hours of the Kreuzboden lift. There is a car park, but you can also easily reach it on foot from the village. Our hotel, the Hotel Alpina Rauris, was just a stone's throw away.
If you have a valid ski pass, you can use the track for free. The toboggan run is about 2 kilometers long and runs on a well-prepared track that is especially suitable for children. However, you should be careful, especially in the bends, to keep control of your toboggan.
The ascent is made using the Kreuzboden double chairlift, which is suitable for two people. The toboggans are attached to the lift by the staff. Note that the route partially crosses the ski slope, which requires attention during the ride. The ski slope ends at a clearly marked flag. From here you have to carry the toboggan for about 100 meters, as several house driveways block the way. After that, it is a comfortable wide route to the valley station.
tobogganing evening with floodlights
For a special experience you can Monday and Thursday from 19:00 to 20:30 enjoy the illuminated toboggan run. The toboggan evening is a highlight for everyone who wants to experience winter fun at night. During this time, however, the ski pass is not valid and there is a separate fee for the ascent on the double chairlift. Adults pay €7.50, young people €5.50 and children €4.50 for the ascent. The toboggan run is perfectly illuminated and offers you a roughly 2-kilometer-long track that you can toboggan down under floodlights.

Toboggans can be rented at various locations in the ski area to make tobogganing as easy as possible for you. You can rent the toboggans directly at the valley station of the Kreuzbodenbahn (6€) or at the Kreuzbodenhütte. Alternatively, the sports shops also offer Intersport Pirchner and Sport Egger offers a rental service in the area.
