The Welios Science Center in catfish is an interactive hands-on museum that presents over 150 exhibits on 3,000 m² of exhibition space. The focus is on renewable energies and scientific phenomena. Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of science in a playful and educational way. The interactive stations and fascinating science shows are particularly impressive and are exciting and educational for both children and adults.
The permanent exhibition at Welios is devoted to the topics of energy efficiency and renewable energies on 2,500 m². In various areas, visitors are shown how water and wind power, biomass, geothermal energy and solar energy work. Interactive stations invite you to experience these topics for yourself and to develop a better understanding of the science behind them through experimentation.
A special highlight of this exhibition are the practical demonstrations in which visitors can actively participate. From turning a wind turbine to generating electricity with a solar system - the stations are designed so that everyone can directly understand the physical principles.
At Welios, children can discover the world of science in a playful way. The numerous interactive stations are specially designed to arouse their curiosity and actively involve them in learning. Whether experimenting with physical phenomena, solving puzzles in the special exhibition or marveling at optical illusions - there is something for every child to discover here. Particularly exciting are the areas in which children can become little scientists themselves by interacting with the exhibits and conducting their own experiments. Welios therefore not only offers entertainment, but also promotes understanding of science and technology in an entertaining way.
Welios is currently showing the special exhibition "Tinting + Puzzles", which allows visitors to discover the world of mathematics in a playful way. At 21 interactive stations, visitors can solve complex tasks, from 2D and 3D puzzles to dexterity tests. This exhibition is aimed at both children and adults and promotes creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Welios regularly hosts science shows that offer exciting insights into scientific topics. The nitrogen show, which demonstrates the properties of liquid nitrogen. This show is not only extremely entertaining, but also very educational and shows how to work with extremely low temperatures.
Another science show deals with the topic acoustics. It is about sound waves, how they travel and how different materials affect sound. This show is also informative, but couldn't quite keep up with the nitrogen show as the presentation was a little less exciting.
Another fascinating element in Welios is the Room of Illusions, which plays with optical illusions. Here, visitors are sent on an exciting journey that challenges their perception. Whether floating objects or distorted perspectives - this area blurs the boundaries of visual perception and creates amazement and surprise.
In addition to the exhibitions, Welios offers a variety of workshops and events that give visitors the opportunity to delve deeper into scientific topics. Whether through experiments with LEGO® robots, climate workshops or participation in interactive light shows - Welios offers the right opportunity for every interest to get active and learn at the same time.
Welios has the Dean & David restaurant, which offers a selection of fresh and healthy dishes. Although the quality of the food is good and it is a healthy option for adults, the restaurant is honestly not ideal for children. The menu selection is more geared towards adults and contains little that will appeal to children and teenagers.
