Luxury and variety at the Hotel Berghof: Our winter dream in St. Johann

Three wonderful days in Hotel Berghof in St. Johann im Pongau– a stay full of enjoyment, relaxation and sporting activities. This ski-in/ski-out hotel is located directly opposite the Valley station in Alpendorf and offers ideal conditions for an unforgettable winter holiday.

Our stay: A perfect mix of activities and relaxation

After our arrival we moved into our cozy Wellness room, which welcomed us with modern alpine charm and a magnificent view of the ski slope. The spacious and modern furnishings, a comfortable bed, and a terrace with panoramic views immediately created a feeling of relaxation.

The first afternoon and evening: Arrive and enjoy

After our arrival we relaxed in the indoor pool, which is pleasantly heated to 30°C and features massage loungers and a counter-current system. The spacious lounge area, which invites you to linger, was particularly nice. Several saunas, a steam bath, a solarium, and smaller relaxation pools are also available here.

Afterwards, a 6-course menu awaited us in the hotel’s own Culinary restaurantFrom the daily fresh salad buffet, to the starters, such as fine tagliatelle in a Parmesan loaf, to the dessert variety, no culinary wish was left unfulfilled. We opted for a foamy mountain cheese soup and, for the main course, a pink roasted beef nut. There are 2-4 options to choose from per course. Of particular note is the Children's buffet, which is specially tailored to the needs of our little guests.

The second day: skiing and wellness

Morning: Skiing in Snow Space Salzburg

After a hearty breakfast on Place of enjoymentWe started the day at the café, which offered a wide selection of fresh rolls, croissants, eggs cooked to order, regional cheese and sausage specialties, and fresh smoothies.

Directly from the hotel, thanks to the Ski-in/ski-out location, we took the gondola to Snow Space SalzburgThe perfectly groomed slopes and modern lifts with heated seats made the skiing experience perfect. Our son attended a ski course at the Toni Gruber Ski School, which is just a few steps from the hotel, and had a great time there. Here you can find all the information to the tickets.

Afternoon: Wellness in the adults-only area

After the day of skiing we relaxed in the new Rooftop Spa. The Infinity Pool with its 360° panoramic view of the surrounding mountains was the highlight. The sunset, which can be experienced from here, creates magical moments. The area is complemented by a Panorama sauna, a steam bath, and stylish relaxation rooms like the "Cloud Nest." Here, each of us found the perfect place to unwind.

The third day: skiing, tobogganing fun and family time

In the morning, we'll head to the neighboring town of Wagrain to go skiing, as there are many things geared toward children. Here you'll find our report.

Afternoon: Adventure on the illuminated toboggan run and family time in the indoor pool and children's playroom

On the third day, a special highlight was on the program: the illuminated toboggan run at Hotel Lammwirt in Großarl. The ride up on the tractor transporting the toboggans was an experience in itself. The descent through the snowy forest was great fun for both children and adults.

Back at the hotel we spent the afternoon in the indoor pool, which, in addition to its comfortable size, is also equipped with floor bubblers and a counter-current system. Our son especially enjoyed the Children's playroom, which is perfectly equipped with numerous lovingly designed play options.

Culinary delights: enjoyment at the highest level

The Hotel Berghof also impresses with its culinary offerings. In addition to the evening menu, the newly designed panoramic restaurant with its impressive view, a fantastic selection of dishes. Whether truffle tagliatelle, grilled salmon trout, or the classic Wiener Schnitzel – the dishes are not only creatively presented, but also taste excellent. Breakfast from Genussplatz with regional products left nothing to be desired.

Family-friendliness and activities

The Hotel Berghof is perfect for families. The Kids' Club, which cares for children from 3 years of age, offers parents the opportunity to spend relaxing hours in the wellness area. A babysitter can be arranged for the little ones upon request. In summer, a heated outdoor pool with a water slide and an adventure playground provide variety. There is also an extensive holiday program with exciting activities.

Wellness on 3,900 m²

The hotel's wellness area impresses with its size and variety. sauna world offers a pine sauna, a sanarium, an infrared cabin and a Finnish sauna with panoramic views. The offer is complemented by soothing Massages and treatments, which are individually tailored to the needs of guests. The heated outdoor pool in the natural garden is a highlight in both summer and winter.

Conclusion: A place for all needs

The Hotel Berghof in St. Johann offers the ideal combination of active vacation and relaxation. With its perfect location, spacious wellness area, and excellent culinary offerings, it's an excellent choice for both families and couples. Our stay was a complete success, and we can wholeheartedly recommend the hotel.
