The Baßgeigensee (translates to bass violin lake) or Müllnersee is a small lake in the Keutschacher Seental east of the Keutschacher See and is located right next to the Keutschacher Moor.
You will pass it directly on the beautiful hike around the Keutschacher Moor. For us, this lake is the highlight of the hike.
It got its name because of its shape, which is reminiscent of a bass violin.
The lake is traversed by the Viktringerbach, which then flows into the Rauschelesee. Because of its strong flow and its small volume, the Baßgeigensee does not reach the water temperatures of the neighboring larger lakes by far.
Nevertheless, it is often bathed in the lake because it is always clean due to the current.
The Baßgeigensee is often used for fishing, so there are carp, pike, catfish and tench here.
