The building of today's Belvedere 21 was originally built for Expo 58 in Brussels. After the World Exhibition, it was dismantled and transported from Belgium to Austria. After being rebuilt and renamed from "21er Haus" to Belvedere 21, it has been showing Austrian art of the 20th and 21st centuries in an international context for some time now.
It is considered a venue for art, performance, music, film, lectures, discussions, artist talks and a lively meeting place in the urban future area.
