We park at the parking lot of the valley station in Riezlern. If you don’t get a parking space here, there is also a larger parking lot on the opposite side of the street. When we arrive at 9:30 a.m., everything is still deserted and we can board the gondola without queuing. Right from the start you have a wonderful view of Riezlern and the rest of the Kleinwalsertal. After a little over 10 minutes we arrive at the mountain station.
Numerous family-friendly hikes await you in Obern, and in winter there are a total of 36 kilometers of slopes available in the Fellhorn/Kanzelwand ski area.
With the Burmiwasser adventure trail, little mountain hikers in summer were also taken into account. Varied play stations line the route from the mountain station of the Kanzelwandbahn to the Riezler Alpsee. For experienced mountaineers and climbers, the two-country via ferrata on the Kanzelwand is a paradise without borders.
We first go right to the panorama restaurant or Hammerspitzbar at the mountain station of the Kanzelwandbahn. From the sun terrace you have an incredibly beautiful view of the valley. Just stop and enjoy.
It is almost even more beautiful on the other side of the Kanzelwandbahn, where the Burmiwasser adventure trail also leads away. Here you have a great view of the Ritzler Alpsee.
In summer we can recommend the valley descent to Riezlern via the Zwerenalpe. This begins at the mountain station, from where a hiking trail leads to a mountain saddle. Here it is worth taking a panoramic view of the Fellhorn area and thus of neighboring Germany, before continuing in the direction of Zwerenalpe and a bit along the stream. It takes about 2.5 hours to descend to Riezlern.
