The first settlements existed in the Roman province of Noricum, today’s Tulln, as early as 2,000 years ago. The newly designed Roman Museum shows the arc of content from the old young Romans to the Tulln of today. The museum is mainly dedicated to history, as well as the exhibition and presentation of finds from the fort and civilian settlement.
On display are 10 short animations in comic style, extraordinary pewter dioramas that tell the military history of Tulln, and life-size figurines that illustrate Roman civilian and military clothing and various activities of the garrison troops.
A large number of finds from civilian settlements and graves (glasses, jewellery, ceramics, inscriptions, remains of grave structures, a large hoard of coins) complete this comprehensive exhibition.
Also interesting is a model that shows the position of the camp under the area of today’s city of Tulln.
