Tourism is the municipality’s most important economic pillar. Most of the jobs in Saalbach are directly or indirectly dependent on it. The Glemmtal is one of the most important tourist areas in the state of Salzburg.
There are 15 cable cars, 17 chair lifts and 24 drag lifts in Saalbach-Hinterglemm and the surrounding area. The Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm / Leogang / Fieberbrunn is located in the area of the municipalities of Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn.
Winter
270 km of slopes can be used for skiing and snowboarding, of which 18 km are black (degree of difficulty), 112 km are red and 140 km are blue. There is also a floodlit slope. There are 10 km of groomed trails with a high altitude trail on the Reiterkogel, ice rinks and floodlit toboggan runs and ice stock sport.
To prepare the slopes, eight reservoirs were created for the snow-making systems and around 700 snow cannons were installed. With the Alpine World Ski Championships in 1991, Saalbach became an international giant among alpine winter sports locations.
Summer
The following offers mark the repositioning of Saalbach-Hinterglemm as the valley of games in summer tourism:

- High ropes course
- “Powertrail” (an 18 km long circuit with more than 55 geocaches, which leads through the whole valley)
