This beautiful gorge is an absolute must if you are in the area. In the summer months you can even visit the gorge every Friday evening from around 8:30 p.m. You can find the exact times on the website. Because it was so beautiful, we saw it both during the day and at night.
During the day: when we arrived, there was no one there, so we went straight to the ticket office. With the Zell am See or Kaprun card, entry is once again free! Savings: around ten euros.
Night: the parking lot was already full when I arrived. I climbed up to the gorge and could hardly believe it: I found myself in a queue about 200m long. The ticket for the special night tour costs ten euros. There are no discounts with the Kaprun Card. 25 minutes had passed before I finally received my ticket. It took about the same amount of time to walk through the gorge.
The Gorge
You walk along the gorge on wooden walkways that are beautifully embedded in nature. The view is simply breathtaking, the roar of the water is deafening. Just stop and enjoy the power of nature. (In the evening you'll be stuck in traffic here anyway)
After about 20 minutes you reach the end of the gorge and go through an iron gate to the exit.
Anyone who wants to can now also use the Gorge lake which is located directly above the waterfall. On nice summer days it offers a pleasant change.
