General
The Tulln Garden is a state garden show established in 2008, which subsequently became a permanent facility. It lies west of the city of Tulln. The garden is divided into two areas, of which the smaller part with a size of about seven hectares shows show gardens and plants (subject to a fee), while the larger, 45 ha large part consists of freely accessible alluvial forest. This forest is also known as the Tulln Water Park and is freely accessible.
The show gardens
You enter the area through the ticket and souvenir shop. Immediately on the right you will find the water lily terrace in the restaurant DIE GÄRTNEREI.
A marked path leads along the 70 show gardens further to the left.
Incidentally, the entire area of the Tulln Garden, including the treetop path, is suitable for wheelchairs and prams. Unfortunately, bicycles and scooters are not permitted in the area of the Tulln Garden (in contrast to the Tulln Water Park) where admission is required.
The show gardens are not only interesting for gardeners. Many visitors come here to walk and spend a leisurely afternoon in the countryside. Throughout the area, the gardeners strictly adhere to the criteria of “Nature in the garden”: no chemical-synthetic pesticides, no chemical-synthetic fertilizers and no peat.
Children’s playground
That is why the area is particularly suitable for children, for whom the largest adventure and nature playground in Lower Austria is also available. Children can spend hours climbing and sliding on huge shipwrecks, in tree houses or on the backs of blue whales. On the seven meter high rope pyramid, the Viking swing, the shipwreck and a variety of water, swing and climbing elements, children can go on a playful adventure at GARTEN TULLN.
Adjacent to the adventure world is the natural playground, where hills, hollows and a thicket merge into one another. Wild paths lead to hidden corners in the undergrowth. Balancing trees, willow bridges, slide slopes and ramparts require skill and endurance.
In addition to the restaurant at the entrance, there is a Bavarian beer garden or the Heurigen Weingut Kuch along the way.
Highlight is the…
Treetop Walk
From the 30 meter high tower you can see the Tullnerfeld, the Wagram, the Vienna Woods, the Danube and on sunny days even Schneeberg and Ötscher.
