With a drop of 54 metres, the Wildenstein Waterfall is one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Europe.
The waterfall is located not far from the town of Gallizien. A road leads to a gravel and partially paved parking lot. From there, it takes about 20 minutes to walk along a steep and partially gravel and rocky forest path until you reach the waterfall. Once there, there is a small platform about 30 meters from the falls.
Because of the danger of falling rocks, it is actually forbidden to go any closer. A fence is supposed to prevent anyone going any further.
However, we didn't know that when we arrived and since there was no sign indicating it, we went straight to the waterfall.
We do not recommend this at this point. Nevertheless, it should be mentioned that this waterfall offers the rare opportunity to view it from behind.
