The Pöstlingberg railway is a 2880 meter long narrow gauge railway line in Linz that connects the Urfahr district with the Pöstlingberg. The mountain railway, built in 1897 in meter gauge, was converted to 900 millimeter gauge between 2008 and 2009 and connected to the Linz tram network. Since then, the Pöstlingbergbahn has been running on a 4140 meter long route that runs from the main square in Linz city center to the Landgutstraße stop. The Pöstlingbergbahn is, like the tram, operated by the Linz AG Lines and is also considered one of the steepest adhesion railways in the world.
