Getting to Raggaschlucht

• By car: You will find two large, free parking spaces on site, from which you can reach the ticket office in about 10 minutes on foot. There are parking spaces for buses at the Flattach tourist office, from where it is about a 12-minute walk to the ticket office.
• By bus: Get off at the “Raggaschlucht” bus stop. From there it is about a 12-minute walk to the ticket office, the starting point for your hike. You can find the current bus timetables for ÖBB, Postbus and Kärntner Linien online.
• By train: Your destination station is Mallnitz-Obervellach. From there you can either take a bus or the station shuttle to get to your excursion destination. The ÖBB timetables and the option to book the station shuttle online, which takes you either from your accommodation or from the station directly to your excursion destination, are available online.

Details about the hike

The path through the Ragga Gorge is well developed and leads over footbridges and bridges that offer spectacular views of the waterfalls and rock formations. The hike is suitable for most age groups, but requires a certain level of basic fitness and surefootedness. It is important that children are carefully supervised during the hike and are sure-footed. The hike is suitable for children from the age of 6. Unfortunately, strollers cannot be taken on the trail.

Visitors are led along an approximately 800-meter-long path that stretches along the Raggabach. This path reveals the power of water that has shaped the landscape over millions of years.

Tips and important information

When visiting the Raggaschlucht, visitors should not only wear sturdy shoes but also clothing appropriate for the weather, as it can be cooler in the gorge and some of the paths are wet. It is advisable to visit the gorge outside of peak times in order to be able to enjoy the natural peace and beauty undisturbed. Dogs are allowed on a leash, but attention should be paid to their safety, as the paths are narrow and sometimes slippery.
