The slopes
With a total of 230 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes and 77 modern cable cars and chairlifts Schladming-Dachstein offers a winter paradise that fulfils every wish. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced skier, you will find slopes to suit your taste here. The pistes are divided into 94 kilometres of blue (easy) runs, 120 kilometres of red (intermediate) runs and 16 kilometres of black (difficult) runs.
Six funslopes, specially designed for the adventurous, provide additional thrills and variety. The Crosspark on the Reiteralm offers a spectacular route that culminates in a daring alpine hut jump. In the Planai Superpark, on the other hand, park elements for every level await you, from easy to difficult.
In addition to the first-class pistes and parks, you can enjoy traditional Austrian cuisine in around 100 rustic ski huts and have fun at après-ski parties. Schladming-Dachstein is the perfect place to experience winter to the full.
Schladming Ski Opening
The Ski Openings in Schladming is a legendary event that attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year. The opening marks the official start of the winter season in Schladming and is a festival for all winter sports fans.
The opening usually takes place on the first weekend in December This weekend the lifts in the Planai already open and visitors can make their first turns of the winter. The opening is celebrated with a big party that takes place in the Planai. There is live music, DJs, food trucks and of course lots of skiing and snowboarding.
