This excursion destination, which is particularly suitable for children, is located above Strobl on WolfgangseeThere are about 100 parking spaces on site. The fun starts right next door.
Children can buy food (corn kernels) from the vending machine and then in the petting zoo who feed around 15 goats and 10 rabbits. All of the animals are in a walk-in enclosure. Sometimes, however, the animals escape and run around outside.
In the wildlife park you will meet Red deer, ibex, fallow deer and wild boar. Around 250 animals live in an area of 250,000 m². Sometimes the owner even comes out onto the terrace with tame animals so that everyone can experience the animals up close.
A visit in autumn is particularly worth experiencing, when the rutting season begins every year at the beginning of September. The mating season for the stags is initiated by the strongest stags loudly "reporting". The weaker stags stand to the side and often have to flee. Rank fights usually only occur between two equally strong stags for the favor of the female. The strongest stag wins and then looks after its herd (up to 40 females) and provides for the offspring.
We can also recommend the Bee educational trail: The tour lasts about 1 hour and is suitable for strollers.
If you want, you can fortify yourself at the end (or beginning) at the Gasthof Kleefeld. The inn's speciality is game dishes. You might want to keep that from your children 😉
