The animal population shows a cross-section through the reptile world living today: from the largest giant snake in the world, the reticulated python; to the most venomous snake in the world, the taipan; the largest venomous snake in the world, the king cobra or various lizards such as crocodiles and rhinoceros iguanas.
First of all you have to pay 15 € entry – quite steep, as we think (please excuse me, the pun had to be 😉
The first stop is a room with various terrariums where snakes, turtles, piranhas and other reptiles from all over the world can be seen. Children are immediately enthusiastic here, as you rarely see such often poisonous animals up close. We like the colorful chameleon best. When it comes to crocodiles, we initially think that they are fake because they don’t touch each other and don’t even blink – but then someone turns their head.
We are even lucky enough to be able to touch a snake. When the time comes, it will be announced over the loudspeaker in the zoo.
Inside it continues into the spider room, where several poisonous spiders are on display. For arachnophobes, that would definitely be nothing.
There are more enclosures outside. 7 of the number should contain different reptiles, but we cannot discover a single one. I don’t know where they’re supposed to be. A little disappointed we see the turtles in the pond. It’s too cold for the giant tortoises too, they have moved inside. At least we can see them through the glass.
For the little ones, there are also plastic dinosaurs at the back of the zoo.
Our conclusion: you can see this zoo, but you don’t have to. The animals are quite interesting, but the entrance fee is very high. In any case, children like it.
