The circumnavigation of the lake
We start in Bad Ischl and arrive at the Schwarzensee at around 10:00 am. At the end of November we are the first car. We buy a parking ticket from the machine for €2.50. We want to do our tour counter-clockwise. The path is paved and goes slightly downhill and is therefore easy to manage with a stroller.
After just a few meters you have the first beautiful view of the lake. Unfortunately it was quite overcast during our visit. Let’s hope the sun comes out. After half an hour of continuous downhill walking, you reach the opposite side of the lake.
Here you turn right in the direction of Moosalm or Attersee. However, we want to go around the lake on the left. Now we continue on a forest road. Strollers can still be pushed without any problems. It now goes straight ahead along the lake through the beautiful autumnal forest.
Towards the end of our tour we finally reach the alpine restaurant “Zur Lore” Schwarzensee. Here we treat ourselves to a cheese dumpling soup and a meat strudel soup. The main course is a surbratl. Since everything tastes so excellent, we order a plum cake for dessert, which also exceeds our expectations.
The last 5 minutes of the tour lead to the inn again slightly uphill to the car park. After about 1 hour of walking we circled the lake.
In the meantime the sun has come out, so we walk forward again these few 100m to the beautiful vantage point. In our opinion, this is where you get the best view of the lake, as you look down a little from the top. What a view!
