Salzburg: Bergresort Werfenweng

Salzburg: Bergresort Werfenweng

Quiet, Movement and sustainable recovery.
Three characteristics that make the Travel Charme Bergresort Werfenweng hit the spot. We visited the resort during a short Wellness holidays tested for you.

The Travel Charme Bergresort Werfenweng consists of various buildings.

Journey:

We arrived at the Werfenweng mountain resort early in the morning. We were very impressed by the size and variety of the hotel and went to check in. When we arrived at reception, we immediately noticed the warmth and hospitality that (as we later discovered) permeates the entire hotel.

After receiving the room cards, we parked the car in the underground car park, where we had already reserved a space when booking, and were accompanied to our room with our luggage.

Our Room:

When we made the booking, we could hardly decide which room category we wanted. From double rooms to junior suites and private apartments, the Werfenweng mountain resort has everything.

In the end, we decided on the Junior Suite – we were only there for one night and as the saying goes, you don't treat yourself to anything else! ☺️

The decision was certainly the right one, because when the door to the room opened and we first looked inside, our eyes went wide.
We entered an almost huge room with everything your heart could desire. A sofa, a large bed, a very spacious bathroom with shower & bathtub and a private coffee corner with an “info tablet”.

The junior suite was truly a dream – not to mention the view of the Hochkönig!

Wellness area

After we stowed our luggage, we immediately grabbed our wellness bag and marched to the wellness area. Because that was exactly why we were here. When we got there, we didn't hesitate for long and immediately "jumped" into the heated pool.
The relaxation was immediately noticeable - the tranquility of the town of Werfenweng, the idyllic view of the Salzburg mountains and the gentle rippling of the water. What more could you want?

There are more than enough places to lie down at the Travel Charme Bergresort Werfenweng. Since the weather wasn't at its best (perfect wellness weather!), we looked for a nice spot inside. But even this decision wasn't easy given the choice of places to retreat to, because we would have loved to lie down anywhere.

After a short, very relaxing afternoon nap, we got ready for a sauna session. It's been a long time (thanks to Corona) since we had a sauna infusion in a hotel - but the day has finally come (again)! In the panoramic sauna we were able to enjoy a "woody infusion". To everyone planning a vacation in the Werfenweng mountain resort: you absolutely have to do this!

PURIA Spa

Of course, a spa treatment and/or massage is a must on any wellness vacation. The friendly lady at the spa reception gave us perfect advice. Luckily, a "private suite" was available - this is a massage room for couples with a sauna or steam bath and a couples' bathtub.
We opted for the "Alpine Country & Mountain Lake" package. We were allowed to have the private suite in the PURIA Spa to ourselves for two hours. It started with a 50-minute couples massage. After the incredibly relaxing massage (the lady had magic hands!) we were given a glass of champagne, went into the couples' bath and then into the steam bath. We have rarely been as relaxed as we were after these two hours.

Dinner

At the Travel Charme Bergresort Werfenweng you will also be pampered with culinary delights in the evening. Since we only had one night (and therefore only one dinner) at the mountain resort, we decided to go to something that had already caught our eye on the way there: the Stroblhaus.

The Stroblhaus reminds us of an old farmhouse. Old wood, wonderful details and cozy seating areas invite you to eat here. We were able to choose a dish from the menu (mainly Austrian home cooking). Conclusion: delicious times two!

Tip: The Stroblhaus is also open to “non-guests” of the Werfenweng mountain resort.

Day 2 in the mountain resort

On the second day, we first devoted ourselves to breakfast. The buffet also leaves nothing to be desired and you notice immediately: regionality is of the highest order at the Travel Charme Bergresort Werfenweng.

Curious as we are, we immediately asked at reception for a short tour of the hotel - of course with the note that we would like to write a blog post. Without batting an eyelid, the reservations manager showed us around the entire building and told us a lot about the hotel and future projects. We don't want to go into those here for now, but we can tell you one thing: there is certainly no standstill in the mountain resort in Werfenweng!

We really wanted to see the other room categories to make your choice a little easier than it was for us. We have put the pictures of them in the gallery and labeled them. Suites, double rooms and apartments. There wasn't a single one that we didn't like.
But we were most impressed by the apartments. Large rooms, separate bedrooms, a private kitchen, bathroom, terrace and, of course, a fantastic view of the surrounding mountains.

Feel good, feel good.

There is one thing we want to mention at the end. On the way to the apartments, the reservation manager told us something else. Travel Charme Bergresort Werfenweng has taken in a refugee family with children from Ukraine. They support and accompany the family in their everyday lives. We think this is a wonderful and amazing thing and we want to say thank you for it. THANK YOU for your humanity!

Conclusion

You've probably noticed. The words "excited", "wonderful", "great" and "beautiful" have appeared frequently in this blog post. You'll have to forgive us, but these words are a perfect fit for the mountain resort. We'll be back (but for longer) and can absolutely recommend a stay.

It was so beautiful. We were there and can only confirm the blog post. What we didn't know and find very, very cool: the humanity for the Ukrainian family. Thank you for doing this, dear TravelCharme team! ❤️
