The special feature of this Austrian valley is that it can only be reached by car via Germany. To get to the “rest of” Austria, you either have to hike or take a 45 km long drive.
For this reason, even before the introduction of the euro, there was only D-Mark in Kleinwalsertal.
At the highest point of the village is the parish church of St. Jodok with the oldest church tower in the Kleinwalsertal, right behind it is the Lourdes chapel from 1897.
The Walmendingerhornbahn also leads from here, which we have of course tested for you. From the mountain station you can go hiking and skiing in winter.
Hiking trails lead from Schwendle to the Wildental and from Bödmen to the Gemsteltal.
There is also access to the Steinbock trail in winter.
