Podersdorf by the lake is located on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl in northern Burgenland.
The town is the centre of tourism in the Seewinkel region with a lido on Lake Neusiedl. The residents promoted tourism and wine-growing, so that Podersdorf now has the most visitors in Burgenland. The town is part of the Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park and is valued by ornithologists and other nature lovers. The protected Pannonian landscape and the numerous local wine taverns serve as excursion destinations for cyclists and hikers.
