The animal population shows a cross-section of the reptile world living today: from the largest giant snake in the world, the reticulated python; to the most poisonous snake in the world, the taipan; the largest venomous snake in the world, the king cobra or various lizards, such as dwarf crocodiles and rhinoceros iguanas.
First of all, you have to pay 15€ entrance fee - quite steep, in our opinion (please excuse the pun, I had to use it 😉
The first stop is a room with various terrariums, where snakes, turtles, piranhas and other reptiles from all over the world can be seen. Children are immediately excited here, as you rarely see such often poisonous animals up close. We like the colorful chameleon the best. At first we think the crocodiles are fake, as they don't touch each other for a millimeter and don't blink - but then one turns its head.
We are even lucky enough to have a Touching a snake When the time comes, it will be announced over the loudspeaker in the zoo.
Inside, the Spider room, where several poisonous spiders are on display. This would definitely not be for arachnophobes.
There are other enclosures outside. There are supposed to be 7 of them containing different reptiles, but we can't find a single one. We have no idea where they are. We look at the turtles in the pond, a little disappointed. It's too cold for the giant turtles too, so they've gone inside. At least we can watch them through the glass.
There are also plastic dinosaurs at the back of the zoo for the little ones.
Our conclusion: You can visit this zoo, but you don't have to. The animals are quite interesting, but the entrance fee is very high. But children like it anyway.
