Short info:
- Where is this place? Directly on the eastern shore of Lake Wolfgang
- What is there to see here? The highlights are the lidos and the Bürgl Panoramaweg. The wildlife park Kleefeld and the Postalm are also nearby.
- What is the Bürgl Panoramaweg? A promenade that is well worth seeing, leading from Strobl to St. Wolfgang.
- Do ships dock in Strobel? Yes, you can find the timetables here.
The place is one of the three surrounding communities of Lake Wolfgang (next to St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang). There are not particularly many sights in Strobl, but the place is perfect for a holiday at Lake Wolfgang. However, the village square and the small lake promenade have their charm. On this very promenade you will find the bronze “Platonic Lovers”, which looks out over the lake, in front of it two cranes are poking around in the water lily pond. The church of St. Sigismund and several summer villas from the turn of the century are located in the village.
The 2 bathing beaches are popular and we can recommend them to everyone. You can really relax here.
The beautiful Bürglstein Promenade also leads away from Strobel.
Bürglstein Promenade
First you walk along the beach promenade counterclockwise along the lake. The starting point is the Seeklause, where the Ischler Ache drains from Lake Wolfgang. On the right the forest, on the left are several boathouses on the shore. Several nice rest areas and information boards provide variety, but the view alone is worth the walk.
The most beautiful part of the walk is the one under the rock faces on the lake side, where you walk along wooden footbridges over the turquoise blue waters of Lake Wolfgang. The location can be reached in just a few minutes on foot.
By the way, you can also walk this far with a pram. Then it goes up and down stairs a few times, which is quite tedious with a pram but possible.
If you want to go the whole way, you will reach St. Wolfgang after almost 9 kilometers. From there you can also return by boat.
