Many Viennese only know Tulln from weekend shopping at the large garden centres of Praskac Pflanzenland or Starkl. It is not for nothing that the town is also known as the garden city due to its many nurseries. But the small town on the Danube with a population of just under 17,000 is really worth a visit.
Tulln is one of the oldest towns in Austria and was already settled in Roman times. Tulln was named as a town (Comagenis civitas) as early as the end of the 8th century.
