Vielen Wiener kennen Tulln gerade einmal vom Wochenendeinkauf bei den großen Gartenmärkten von Praskac Pflanzenland oder Starkl. Nicht umsonst ist der Ort wird aufgrund der vielen Gärtnereien auch als Gartenstadt bekannt. Dabei ist die kleine Stadt an der Donau mit knapp 17.000 Einwohnern wirklich einen Besuch wert.
Tulln ist einer der ältesten Städte Österreichs und wurde schon in der Römerzeit besiedelt. Bereits Ende des 8. Jahrhunderts wurde Tulln als Stadt (Comagenis civitas) genannt.
Die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Tulln:
- Die Garten Tulln und der Wasserpark
- Minoritenkirche
- Pfarrkirche St. Stephan
- Tullner Karner
- Stadtturm und die Burgmauer
- Der Hauptplatz mit der Dreifaltigkeitssäule im Zentrum sowie den alten Bürgerhäusern aus der Gotik, der Renaissance und dem Barock. Außerdem das späthistorischen Amtsgebäude der Bezirkshauptmannschaft aus 1891, das nach den Plänen von Ferdinand Nebesky, nach dem Vorbild eines Wiener Ringstraßenpalais errichtet wurde.

- Geburtshaus des expressionistischen Malers Egon Schiele am Hauptbahnhof Tulln sowie das Egon Schiele Museum
Zwar keine Sehenswürdigkeit, aber besonders empfehlen können wir euch das Aubad von Tulln. Der 5 Hektar große Naturbadesee ist das ideale Ausflugsziel in Niederösterreich für Familien, Hobbysportler und Genießer. Für Kinder bietet es einen aufgeschütteten Stand und sogar eine Wasserrutsche. Sportbegeisterte können Volleyball, Basketball oder Fußball spielen und sogar ein SUP ausborgen.
Gemütlich schlendern lässt sich entlang der Donau. Hier findet ihr wunderschön angelegte Gartenabschnitte entlang der Donaulände, und auch kleine Sehenswürdigkeiten wie das Nibelungendenkmal, die Donaubühne, die Marc-Aurel Statue, den Römerturm und das Rathaus.
Wer nicht so viel gehen möchte und für Kinder gibt es auch einen Hop on Hop off Bummelzug durch die Kunst- und Gartenstadt Tulln.

Many Viennese only know Tulln from weekend shopping at the large garden centers of Praskac Pflanzenland or Starkl. It is not for nothing that the place is also known as the garden city due to the many garden centers. The small town on the Danube with almost 17,000 inhabitants is really worth a visit.
Tulln is one of the oldest cities in Austria and was inhabited as early as Roman times. Tulln was already mentioned as a city (Comagenis civitas) at the end of the 8th century.
The most important sights in Tulln:
- The Garden Tulln and the water park
- Minorite Church
- Parish Church of St. Stephen
- Tulln Karner
- City tower and the castle wall
- The main square with the Trinity Column in the center and the old town houses from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods. In addition, the late historic office building of the district administration from 1891, which was built according to the plans of Ferdinand Nebesky, based on the model of a palace on the Ringstrasse in Vienna.
- The Roman Museum
- Birthplace of the expressionist painter Egon Schiele at Tulln main station and the Egon Schiele Museum
Although not a sight, we can particularly recommend the Aubad in Tulln. The 5-hectare natural bathing lake is the ideal destination in Lower Austria for families, amateur athletes and connoisseurs. For children it offers a raised beach and even a water slide. Sports enthusiasts can play volleyball, basketball or football and even borrow a SUP.
You can take a leisurely stroll along the Danube. Here you will find beautifully landscaped garden sections along the banks of the Danube, and also small sights such as the Nibelungen Monument, the Danube stage, the Marc-Aurel statue, the Roman tower and the town hall.
If you don’t want to walk so much and for children there is also a hop on hop off slow train through the art and garden city of Tulln.
